Medium-sized Evergreen trees; branches grayish, rugose, with lenticels; branchlets pubescent at first, darkening, later glabrous.
Leaves alternate, coriaceous, super posited, ovate to oblong, 6-8 cm long, 2-3.2 cm broad, falcate-acuminate at apex, obtuse at base, with 3 main veins, glabrous above, yellowish-golden pilose, appressed-sericeous beneath when young, midrib elevated on both surfaces, lateral veins 2-3 pairs, elevated on both surfaces, veinlets subparallel, transversely reticulate; petioles 2-2.5 cm long, gray-puberulent.
Inflorescences umbellate, 5-10-flowered; involucral bracts 4, 5 mm long; pedicels 3 mm long; flowers campanulate, pubescent, 1 mm long; tepals 4-parted, ovate, 4 mm long, 2 mm broad, margins pubescent outside, glabrous inside; staminate flowers with 6 or 7 stamens, 4 mm long, filaments filiform, hirsute at base, 1st and 2nd whorles of stamens eglandular, 3rd whorl with 2 stipitate glands, anthers ovate, l.5 mm long, 4-celled, the 2 superior cells introrse, 2 inferior latrorse or extrorse; ovary globose, 0.75 mm long, style rather strong, 1.5 mm long, distinctly hirsute, stigma 3-lobed; pistillate flowers with ovary globose, 1.3 mm long, puberulent, with persistent tepals.
Fruit ellipsoid.
